Welcome to this opportunity! We are going to take a journey together and focus on all the cycles that were passed down to you, (meaning what your parents taught you), what you want to pass down to your child/children and which cycles you want to break. The amazing part? Once you break dysfunctional cycles (meaning actions that do not serve you well), inside yourself, it is easier to break the cycle with your child. It’s amazing, we set goals in everything in life, except the investment of the next generation. We just kind of fumble through and expect that it will work itself out.

Sometimes, we just don’t know how to change things and get them on the right track. Being chemically dependent throws a major curve ball in your role as a parent. It means that you’ve chosen a lifestyle over your responsibilities as a parent. It may not be so much of a choice now, because you are addicted. However, until you acknowledge it was a choice to begin with, you won’t be able to move forward in making better choices.
Parenting is one of the most selfless journeys you’ll ever go on. Your needs are put on the back burner and your child’s needs come first. The responsibilities of parenthood seems like they are never ending, but we only get 18 short years to get it right, all the while, hoping we don’t pass down a generational cycle that would impede their health or life. Let’s figure this out together!
